Erke and Soilmec's cooperation started in 1987, and reached its 30th anniversary today. In those times, foundation sector and its industry was led by foreign companies. In every Project, a foreign firm would be included, directing the Turkish foundation sector with unkown machineries and unknown methods.
This was the environment that ERKE was “born” in. It was born in an earthquake zone and in a region where soil remediation is absolutely necessary. Finding a local firm to do a foundation work and ground application in Turkey, and in such a risky area was almost a miracle. Only a handful of Turkish firms were operating, but they were always occupied and priced were astronomical comparing to the prices of today.
Turkey is developing and the market is on the rise and the competition is very high. ERKE has made it possible for new engineers and entrepreneurs who want to establish their business in this complex environment to lead the development of the foundation technology in Turkey by pioneering with the support of finance and foreign companies. In those years, where leasing was not on the table and everything was paid in cash, privately owned companies were supporting the local investors. By the mid 90’s, the number of local foundation companies were just around 10.

From the second half of the 90’s, new companies increased to open, and by the time it was the 2000’s, the number of foundation companies reached around 20. Leasing was added to the means of payment, but leasing transactions with Mark or Dollar had the interest rate of 20% which still caused a problem.
Erke is celebrating the 30th anniversary of cooperating with the Italian company, Soilmec. Erke and Soilmec have been recognized as the supporters for the new Technologies. First Jet Grouting, first self-piling machine, first hydraulic diaphragm-wall machine, first SoilMix, First Turbo Jet, first Umbrella method in tunnels, first CFA application, first Bentonite application and many more.

Today, Turkey has more than 130 foundation companies. The capacity and dynamism of Turkey is more likely to support more foundation firms and especially local firms.

On May 17th, 2017, ERKE was rewarded the Honor Award for the support given to Soilmec, and the support ERKE gave to the foundation companies in Turkey. The award was given in a ceremony held at Soilmec HQ in Cesena, Italy. We recieved this award behalf of all the Foundation Business people of Turkey. We are proud to say that this honor is for every one of us.
