SEMW D-62 and D-80 Diesel Hammers were used for GalataPort Project.

GalataPort Project, which has been occupying the mainstream media since years has finally begun. The Project that has been on the news since March 2002, is on its way to become of the biggest reference projects of the region. Two times to invite tenders for, has been finally won by Doğuş Holding in the latest bid on 16 May 2013 for 702 million dollar.





The first bid in 2005 was to be a BOT. On 2013 however the tender was changed for Transfer of Operational Rights with the operation time shortened from 49 years to 30.

The equivalance value dropped from 2 to 1,5 in 2013, meaning a %25 smaller indoor area construction. The downpayment of %20 has been made, the remaining balance will be closed with agreed installments between the parties.

GalataPort Project that takes part from the Karaköy port to Fındıklı, covering an area of 1.2 km coastline with 112.147 m2 area. Once the Project is complete, the infamous İstanbul skyline will be subject to a radical change.

The first step of the Project that is the extraction of previously made piles on the sea line has begun on february 2016. The delivery for two 2 units of SEMW D-62 and D-80 Diesel Hammers have been successfully made in June 2016 to M/s Ayson company. The depths are between 30-42 m and the diameter being 1000 mm.
