Golden Horn Bridge : Piling Job on Land has been completed.

Land Piles of the Golden Horn Project; which will ease the Istanbul Traffic, has been completed. Alternatif Zemin, an expert company on Foundation Sector,  has finalized their hard job for 60 m length, 2,5 m diameter piles very succesfully, due to very hard soil conditions and not to mention very heavy winter weather. All 38 piles are considered as masterpieces.

The project which will connect the metro trains from Levent-Taksim line to Yenikapı, and furthermore to Asian side through Marmaray Tunnel, is going to take a big load off of Istanbul Bridges traffic.

This very prestigious project has been designed hand in hand with the peninsula’s historical background. Nevertheless, this historical environment caused too much delays on the site jobs. With the finalization of the land piles job, the project is going to accelarate again.

Alternatif Zemin Company owner Mr. Yaşar Tanış, has noted that Soilmec Drilling Rigs have been used, Again in this prestigious Deep Piling jobs. He added “ we have been able to complete these 38 piles (dia. 2,5 m), thanks to Soilmec R-825 machinery” With the balanced and stabile winch of the machinery and the powerful rotary let us passed through the hard rock without any problems”. Mr. Tanış told that each pile took 2 days to complete.

Alternatif Zemin had used casing tube for the first 6 m. and then continued with bentonite during the boring of the piles. For this highly important project, the reinforcement steels have been calculated as 1 ton per meter. Also, a very special technique and equipments have been used for the placing of these reinforcements.

It was the first time in Turkey a project with 2,5 m diameter and 60 m length land Piles have been done so far. This also gives Alternatif a rightful pride to accomplish such and amaizing job, thanks to Soilmec Drilling Rigs.
