Saudi Arabia capital Riyadh giants bid for first subway has three international consortia. It will cost 22.5 billion dollars, the 176-kilometer-long metro system planned to have six lines. The construction will be led by the US company Bechtel, Siemens is one of the companies to construct the first two metro lines given to the consortium, the estimated cost will be 9 billion 450 million. The second consortium led by the Spanish company FCC, includes the French, South Korea and the Dutch company will build the other three subway lines, costing 7 billion 880 million dollars. The third consortium led by Italian company Ansaldo line auction of 5 billion 210 million dollars. The project will be completed in 2019 and Riyadh Governor Prince Tiirk Bin Abdullah indirectly stat that there will be many benefits and that it will contribute positively to the economy, both domestic and foreign users to save time during transportation. Prince stated that, the subway project will help decrease traffic and air pollution and also will add new business opportunities arise.
